Hearthguard
Matthew Raftis
Home Concierge & Owner
Hearthguard didn't start as a business plan. It started with people I knew and trusted, asking me to keep an eye on their homes while they were away, whether for vacations, for emergencies, for extended periods where they simply couldn't be there themselves. I took it seriously every single time, and word got around.
It became clear pretty quickly that this was a need a lot of people had, and not enough people were filling it the right way. So I decided to do it properly.
I spent years working in law enforcement and security, including a long stretch as a night shift supervisor. That work teaches you things you can't learn anywhere else. How to stay calm when something goes wrong, how to spot a problem before it becomes a crisis, and how to take responsibility for something that isn't yours and treat it like it is.
I also spent years in the trades performing siding installation, framing, drywall, and security camera installs for homeowners across the region. I saw so much that other tradesmen would say, "Looks good from my house". That was never good enough for me. I saw the job completed properly the first time so I wouldn't need to be called back a second time. That background gives me something most property managers don't have: I can walk through a home and actually understand what I'm looking at. I'm not just checking boxes. I know what's normal, what's off, and what needs attention.
Whether you're a homeowner heading away for a week or a season, or a property manager with vacant homes that need consistent care, Hearthguard exists for exactly that.
When you work with Hearthguard, you're working with me directly. I'm easy to talk to, I'll always give you a straight answer, and I take the trust you place in me seriously.
Your home is in good hands. I'll make sure of it.
